May 9 bomb threat received

Several Internet news portals, mass media newsrooms and Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs report having received an anonymous letter with the threat of a suicide bombing if indeed the WWII Victory Day event is held as planned at the Victory Monument in Pardaugava.

Taking this information into account, the Security Police has urged the State Police force to heighten crowd control to the maximum, especially keeping a watchful eye on backpacks, purses, bags and satchels attendees may bring, reports LETA.
