KEEP OUT: Tensions rise to restrict foreign purchases of Lithuania’s land
VILNIUS - The initiative group behind the referendum against land sales to foreigners apparently won’t be content with holding just one referendum, reports ELTA. They are also planning to ask the nation about the introduction of the euro planned in 2015.
At a press conference on Feb. 21, initiators of the referendum said that introduction of the euro was a step against the will of the Lithuanian people and that Lithuania was not ready to join the euro area.
