Lithuania's President Dalia Grybauskaite met with Kazakhstan's Minister of Foreign Affairs Erlan Idrissov to discuss bilateral relations, strengthening of the cooperation in the areas of economy and transport.

"Lithuania and Kazakhstan maintain successful economic cooperation. I am glad that trade links between our countries are increasing; however, the potential in the areas of transport, business, science and high technologies has not been used to its full extent," said Grybauskaite.

The turnover of bilateral trade in 2013 totalled 580 million euros, but there are many areas, where the relations between the countries may further develop, Grybauskaite says.

Lithuania's export to Kazakhstan is significantly growing, this year it amounted to 377 million euros. Transport services constitute 75 percent of Lithuanian export to Kazakhstan.
