The mayor of Tallinn, Center Party chairman Edgar Savisaar, has agreed to compete, in the party's internal elections, for the election list of the Center Party for the upcoming European Parliament elections, reports Public Broadcasting. Over 20 people want to run for the European Parliament in the Center Party list.
Center Party secretary general Priit Toobal said that Riigikogu members Juri Ratas, Mailis Reps, Kadri Simson, Enn Eesmaa are certainly competing and party charwoman Savisaar is "highly likely" to also compete.
The Center Party council member picks 12 candidates out of the 20 who will get into the party's election list. The place of each candidate in the election list will be decided at the election conference in spring.
