Bus fares higher in new year
RIGA - A ticket to ride on public transport in Riga, if bought from the bus or tram driver, now costs 1.20 euros, a price hike of nearly 60 percent welcoming passengers in the New Year. Residents, however, expected that prices, whether bought at ticket-dispensing machines or on the bus, would be 0.60 euros, as had been heavily advertised by the Riga City Council, reports LETA.
Most Rigans had not expected this unhappy pricing surprise.
Those taking public transport are also disgruntled ...
