Latvia's first ever female Prime ministerial candidate Laimdota Straujuma has presented her vision of how she would like to see the division of ministerial posts in order of political parties involved in the formation of the next government.

Under new plans, Unity could take responsibility for the Finance, Education and Science, Defense and Transport Ministry alongside independent Saeima members.

The Reform Party has been offered to head the Economy, Health and the Interior Ministry.

All for Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK (VL-TB/LNNK) has been offered to lead the Environmental Protection and Regional Development, Culture and the Justice Ministry.

Meanwhile, the Union of Greens and Farmers have been offered to head the Agriculture, Welfare and Foreign Ministry.

Straujuma added that a European Affairs minister's position could also be set up for a two year period. The parties involved in the government formation talks will make their points of view on Straujuma's offer on Jan. 9.

She added that no talks were held on specific minister candidates today.
