Over 5,000 bombs liquidated in Latvia

Soldiers from the Unexploded Munitions Company have neutralized 5,792 explosive devices this year, LETA reports.

In 2013, soldiers went out on 1,224 calls throughout Latvia to liquidate explosive devices, the most in its history.

Soldiers detonated various types of explosive devices left over from previous wars and eras, including ammunition shells, aviation bombs, rockets and underwater bombs.
