Not so long ago, we asked our readers what their favorite places to eat were in the Baltics. We had some great replies. Here they are:

1. LIDO

What's a top ten food list without the legendary Lido. The Latvian founded restaurant serves up delicious buffet style grilled food. Get yourself a plate of grilled shashlik and fried potatoes, washed down with a kefir. Perfect.

2. ELEVANT

'Food and ambience' said reader David Smith, when asked what some of the best restaurants in the Baltic were. The Indian restaurant in Tallinn serves us great kebab dishes and vegetarian options. There's some good deals to save prices on too.

3. DRUKOS NAMAI

Drukos Namai in Vilnius prides itself on the fact that it sources produce from nearby farms, hence why its menu is always changing. Try the delicious lombatelo steak with potato chips or braised beef tongue with mashed potatoes.

4. PLATE RESTAURANT

Plate at Hotel Jelgava is a real treat, according to reader, Cian Guckian. Staff at the Jelgava restaurant are friendly and welcoming and their home grown food is delicious.

5. F-HOONE

Whoever came up with the idea for this Tallinn restaurant is a genius. The converted factory provides the perfect location for a place to eat. Low lighting, good music and great food make the perfect combination here. Suggested by Adrienne Warren.

6. HOTEL PANORAMA RESTAURANT

“They do an excellent chicken,” says reader Julian Siuksta. The newly opened hotel restaurant offers a cosy atmosphere with European themes dishes. Also available for formal dinners and weddings.

7. FAZENDABAZARS

Riga is full of great restaurants, and this is one them. Mediterranean cuisine and tasty seafood dishes are on the menu here. Reader, Bruck Kimmerle recommends it.

The German themed restaurant in Vilnius ranks high on our list, as recommended by reader Violeta Kelertas. Try out their delicious sausage dishes or other German style foods. Service is friendly and the layout is interesting

Love coffee? It doesn't get better than Gourmet Coffee in Tallinn. Despite high prices, you're guaranteed freshly ground coffee, delicious cake and tasty dishes to go with it. Suggested by Adrienne Warren.

Hidden in Riga Old Town, Fontaine Deli Snack serves up delicious diner style burgers. It's also open twenty fours hours and day and can never been found empty. Don't miss out.
