A euro awareness campaign will begin with the opening of a Euro Exhibition in Riga on Friday, Oct. 25, reports LETA.
Residents will be informed about the design of euro coins and bills, security features, and the main facts regarding the exchange of lats for euros.
There will be television commercials, notices in the printed and online media, outdoor posters, while every household will receive leaflets about the euro introduction.
Head of the European Central Bank’s Directorate on Banknotes, Ton Roos, and Bank of Latvia’s Cash and Money Circulation Department head Janis Blums, will participate in the campaign’s opening ceremony at the Daile Theater.
The Euro Exhibition at the Daile Theater will run until Dec. 13.
