Declaration against sexual violence inked

VILNIUS - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevicius continues his visit to New York. On Sept. 24, Lithuania joined with others in the Declaration on Preventing Sexual Violence in Conflict, which was initiated by British Foreign Secretary William Hague, reports ELTA.

Lithuania is against social violence as a war tactic. “It is a handicap for a peace treaty, for the country’s restoration and the restoration of human rights,” said Linkevicius.

He congratulated the High-Level Political Forum which was to coordinate policy for harmonious development.
In the very first sitting of the High-Level Political Forum, Linkevicius highlighted the significance of equal opportunities for the establishment of new workplaces and the role of partnerships. Moreover, the Lithuanian minister of foreign affairs encouraged the establishment of partnerships in accordance with national interests.
