For love of money, sham marriages continue
RIGA - Latvian citizens registered 108 marriages with third country citizens in Ireland in 2012, Latvian Ambassador to Ireland Peteris Elferts said after a meeting with Interior Minister Rihards Kozlovskis and Interior Ministry State Secretary Ilze Petersone-Godmane on Jan. 17, reports LETA.
Fifty-six marriages were registered between Latvian and Pakistani citizens, 16 between Latvian and Bangladeshi citizens, 15 between Latvian and Indian citizens, the Latvian Embassy in Dublin said.
