Lukashenko: Lithuania will not break relations with Belarus

MINSK - During a press conference yesterday, President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that Lithuania will not break ties with Belarus, informs news agency BELTA.

"To break relations with Belarus would be crazy decision," said Lukashenko.

The president says that Belarus generates about 30 percent of Lithuanian budget.

"I was informed that since 2015 or even earlier the European Union (EU) will no longer issue grants to Lithuania, whereas now it allocates two or three billion. Lithuania will face even greater challenges," said Lukashenko.

Belaruspresident regarding Belarus cargo transit through Lithuania said that they reload up to 10 million tons of cargo. "Ports make a living from our goods," said Lukashenko.

"You cannot choose your neighbors. It was destined and two countries should live peacefully," said the president.
