2013 Riga budget adopted with 7 percent deficit

RIGA - Yesterday, the Riga City Council adopted its 2013 budget with a 7 percent deficit, informs LETA.

Riga's budget revenue, including special budget revenue, is projected at 464.1 million lats (660.3 million euros) next year, expenditures – at 499.1 million lats, therefore a deficit of 35 million lats is planned in the budget.

Compared to 2012, budget expenditures will grow 4.2 million lats, while state budget funds will drop from 80 million lats to 72 million lats.

The Riga City Council's priorities will remain unchanged – social aid, public transportation, public safety, investments in infrastructure and well-tended quarters.
