VILNIUS - Lithuanian President Dalia Grybauskaite has voted in advance for the run-off election today.

She invited people of Lithuania to vote actively and responsibly.

"Run-off is of no lesser importance than the first round. So far we have elected only half of the new Seimas. We must completely perform our duty as citizens. Everyone of us must give our vote responsibly. Those who cannot show up at their polling-stations Sunday have other opportunities to express their political will. I was one of those people too," she said.

Election run-off is scheduled for Oct. 28.

A total of 36 representatives of the Labour Party, 35 Conservatives, 27 Social Democrats, 9 members of the party Drasos Kelias (The Way of Courage), 8 from the party Order and Justice, 6 candidates from the Liberals' Union and also 6 from the Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania, 4 independent candidates, 3 members of the Lithuanian Farmers and Greens Union and 2 from the Liberal and Centre Union will be competing in the run-off.
