RIGA - Today, MPs decided not to submit Greens/Farmers bill on resuming indexing of pensions to Saeima committees for review.
Greens/Farmers suggested removing temporary provision in the Law on State Pensions, which stipulates that state pensions are not revised from January 1, 2009 to December 31, 2013.
The bill also proposed differentiating early retirement pensions based on the recipient's length of service.
Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) previously announced that indexing of pensions was not planned in the 2013 budget and added that the government could consider the matter during the work on the 2014 budget.
