Hospital strike looms

TALLINN - The Estonian Doctors Union and Healthcare Workers Vocational Union announced that they would start a strike on Oct. 1 to demand higher wages, reports Public Broadcasting. They say that on Oct. 1, planned outpatient appointments will be stopped in Tallinn and Tartu hospitals.
From Oct. 8, the strike in these hospitals can be expanded to inpatient care and Parnu, Viljandi, Narva and Kuressaare Hospital’s planned outpatient medical system will join the strike.
