Dombrovskis to push trade in UK

RIGA - Latvian Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) will meet with British Foreign Minister William Hague on Aug. 11, where it is expected that increased UK support for improved economic cooperation will be discussed, reports LETA. Dombrovskis will inform Hague about Latvia’s efforts in joining the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and call on Great Britain’s support.

The officials will also discuss the latest developments in the European Union and the eurozone and the opportunities for strengthening cooperation in the northern region, in making it the most stable and dynamic region in the EU.
Dombrovskis and Hague will also discuss the upcoming Northern Future Forum, which will be held in Riga in February 2013, bringing together Nordic and British prime ministers, businesspeople and others.

On Sunday, the prime minister will participate in a reception organized by the British government and attend the Olympic Closing Ceremony.
