Latvian Embassy in London honors Latvian athletes

LONDON - On Tuesday, Latvian Olympians gathered at the Latvian Embassy in London for a special reception in their honor, LETA was informed by the Foreign Ministry's press and information department.

At the reception, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (Unity) addressed the athletes, during which he wished them endurance, success and many achievements. The PM also urged the athletes to continue supporting one another at the Olympics.

During the visit, Dombrovskis was acquainted with the embassy's diplomats and staff, and had a discussion with Latvian Ambassador to the United Kingdom Eduards Stiprais.

As reported, the prime minister is currently in London to attend the Summer Olympics and cheer on Latvian athletes.

On Thursday, August 8, Dombrovskis will attend the BMX competition, where Latvia is a medal favorite.

On Friday, August 9, the prime minister will watch canoeing.

This weekend, Dombrovskis intends to see the pentathlon, the football final and the finals of the men's basketball tournament.
