Banks shake off Snoras bankruptcy

VILNIUS - As of Jan. 1, 2012, the assets of operating banks in Lithuania amounted to 79 billion litas (22.8 billion euros), a decline of 3.3 percent, or 2.7 billion litas, over the year, the bank of Lithuania said in a statement based on audited data, reports LETA.After excluding the factor of the now-bankrupt Bankas Snoras, the annual growth of assets is 6.6 percent, or almost 5 billion litas.
