Ministry wants foot in India, Brazil

RIGA - The Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs wishes to open Latvian embassies in Brazil and India, according to the Ministry’s report on the development of the network of Latvia’s diplomatic representations until 2015, which was presented at a meeting of state secretaries on April 16, reports LETA.The opening of the two embassies, provided that each has a staff of two diplomats plus two contractual employees, will cost more than 1.2 million lats (1.7 million euros), based on estimates that the Foreign Ministry made last October.
