Former Parex owners sue government

RIGA - The former owners of Parex Bank - Valerijs Kargins and Viktors Krasovickis - have turned to the Riga Regional Court, demanding that the Parex Bank takeover agreement, according to which the state took over the bank’s shares for 2 lats (2.8 euros), be recognized as no longer in force, reports LETA.The Finance Ministry, however, believes that Kargins’ and Krasovickis’ claim against the Ministry, Parex Bank, Latvijas Hipoteku un Zemes Banka (Latvian Mortgage and Land Bank, Mortgage Bank) and the Latvian Privatization Agency is unfounded because the agreement, whi...
