VILNIUS - Minister of Finance Ingrida Simonyte denied rumors that Lithuania is going to borrow some money from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), although, she also said that one would not borrow from the international markets for an unreasonable price.

"We are observing the situation of markets. If conditions are favorable, we might borrow. However, I have said it before and repeat it again – we are not going to borrow for an unreasonable price," Simonyte said on Jan. 18, during her interview for Lietuvos Radijas, reports LETA/ELTA.

"If, for some reasons, profitability of securities increased or there were some other unforeseen circumstances, we would consider all possible alternatives, one of which is borrowing from the IMF," Simonyte said.
