Zakulis approved as the new head of FCMC

RIGA - This morning, Saeima voted for Kristaps Zakulis as the new head of the Financial and Capital Market Commission [FCMC], reports LETA.

73 Saeima members voted for Zakulis, while 17 Zatlers’ Reform Party members abstained.

As reported, Zakulis was previously in charge of "Lattelecom" and "Swedbank" security departments.

According to the law, the Financial and Capital Market Commission's head and his deputy are appointed by Saeima for six years.
