At 12:45 p.m. on Tuesday, after several hours of debate, Latvia’s Parliament, the Saeima, approved a new government. Voting in favor of the coalition that was put together by Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis were 57 MPs, while 38 were against. Readers may remember that the coalition, which is made up of Unity, the National Alliance (NA), the Zatlers Reform Party (ZRP) and six independent MPs who left the ZRP even before Parliament met for the first time, have 56 seats in the Saeima.
