Tashkent offers little respite for Sevastova

TASHKENT, Uzbekistan – Latvia’s Anastasija Sevastova has been unable to take advantage of a second rate field at the Tashkent Open with the fourth seed sent packing in the second round. After losing in the first round of the US Open, Sevastova travelled to Central Asia to play in a tournament lacking any big name players. Yet despite playing in a weaker field, Sevastova would still find herself going home relatively early, falling to Russia’s Valeria Savinykh 5-7 6-3 3-6 in the second round. The relatively unknown world no.13...
