The last few weeks have not been the best of times for Lithuania. The country’s Ministry of Justice gave the Belarusian authorities information on the bank accounts of almost 400 opposition organizations and individuals. On the basis of this information the authorities in Minsk arrested Ales Bialiatsky, a leading human rights activist, and charged him with tax evasion on a massive scale.
