Madona and Coulaines: twenty years like twin towns

In the early-evening of May 18th, Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia in France Sanita Pavluta-Deslandes, and five of Latvia’s Madona urban district mayors came to the French town of Coulaines to mark the twentieth anniversary of cooperation between those cities.

The event was held in the  Coulaines town’s hotel, and about seventy guests were invited.
Christophe Rouillon, Mayor of Coulaines thanked the participants and in his speech he emphasized that further development will be even closer between the two cities in cultural activities and financial assistance in the field of medicine and pharmacology.

Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Latvia in France Sanita Deslandes Pavluta enjoyed the nice and long lasting friendship between two cities and to all participants she wished to protect and strengthen it.
Coulaines town’s representatives and five Latvian Madona urban district mayors signed a contract of further co-operation. Later, the participants exchanged commemorative gifts.

In the evening, guests were talking, tasting french dishes, and singing Latvian songs.
