Europol highlights Lithuanian crime

VILNIUS -- In its most recent report on crime in Europe, international policing agency Europol has thrown the spotlight on Lithuanian organized crime.

The report, titled "Organized Crime Threat Assessment 2011", mentions Lithuania 24 times, mostly in the context of Lithuania/Albanian organized crime networks. The report mentions Estonia three times and Latvia just once.

The report says that the Lithuanian crime networks are suspected of drug smuggling and counterfeiting.
