Russian-speaking teachers on probation

RIGA - When classes begin in Latvia on Sept. 1, certain teachers, and not students, will be put on probation. Russian language teachers who have not yet shown proficiency in Latvian will be able to continue teaching for this year if they make an effort to learn the language.
