Bus driver shot, passengers robbed

RIGA - A bus driver was shot, and his passengers were robbed, on a lonely stretch of road linking Balvi to Rezekne the evening of Aug. 17.The bus, which is privately run, was traveling to the Guriunai market in Vilnius when it was stopped by three masked men about 50 meters from a railway crossing.As the bus traveled through the wooded area, one robber stood in its path and gestured to the driver to stop.
