DEAC connects Eurasian companies with success

Mar 18, 2010

The Baltic’s largest data center operator, IT company DEAC, has assigned the global and ambitious goal of becoming a stable and reliable bridge linking Asia and Europe, thereby helping enterprises to operate globally. DEAC already offers a full range of integrated IT solutions to almost 2,000 customers from 20 countries around the world.
DEAC CEO Andris Gailitis talks about future plans.

– What can DEAC offer for European or Asian companies?
Any company, by renting in whole or just a part of a server with business data in DEAC European data centers optimizes its IT infrastructure, gets guaranteed data security and 100% data availability from any region of Russia or Europe with guaranteed data transmission speed, along with 24/7 technical support. For example, a powerful server rental with a complete set of services with unlimited internet traffic is about 140-180 Euro/month, which, as you must agree, compared to costs of constructing and maintaining your own IT infrastructure, looks very appealing.

– How do you plan to connect Europe and Asia?
In cooperation with Russian telecommunication operator “Synterra,” DEAC’s communication scheme provides direct links to any region of Russia, and direct access to international Internet traffic exchange points in Frankfurt, Stockholm, London, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Riga and other major cities. It is a perfect opportunity for every DEAC customer to work from any region of the world, with guaranteed internet connection speeds. For European customers it is also quite important that our managers and technical support speak Russian and English, which will definitely speed up quote processing and technical solutions troubleshooting.

– What new features has DEAC introduced in the offer?
Recently we have started to deploy data center infrastructure to provide full-scale “SaaS” (“Software As A Service”) model operation for European companies – providing software and data center’s resource rental. “SaaS” is one of the IT strategies for any segment of small and medium businesses, which consider the creation of a secure and reliable IT infrastructure. The given model of software and data center infrastructure operation allows each employee of the company, from any Internet-connected computer, with a high degree of security, to work remotely from anywhere in the world in an integrated system with all necessary information. It is important to understand that the old-fashioned way of working, operating with data on a server located in the office, has several important limitations compared with the SaaS model. Firstly, in co-locating your data in DEAC data centers, the level of security is much higher, due to a more modern and more powerful data center infrastructure than most companies can afford. Secondly, there is no need to invest in the purchase of servers and licenses, thus providing uniform costs.

– What are the newest trends in the IT business?
Currently, the real question is regarding data safety and business security. Creating a backup data center in DEAC is a new, guaranteed opportunity for representatives of medium and large Euro-Asian businesses. That ensures business continuity with a disaster recovery plan for the operation of the company’s IT systems, in the shortest time, for up to several minutes.
