KING SIZED DISCOUNTS: Restaurant managers have figured out that in tough economic times the way to keep tables full is to cut costs, improve service and cut prices.
RIGA - The global financial crisis hit the restaurant business in Latvia hard - turnover in 2010 is down by 30 – 40 percent compared to 2009, and many restaurants have been forced to close. According to The Association of Hotels and Restaurants data, at least 1,500 restaurants were closed in the past year around Latvia. Only several hundred new ones opened.
