Agencies work to find jobs abroad

JOB EMIGRES: Lithuanians in Ireland gather to celebrate St. Casimir’s feast on March 4. St. Casimir is Lithuania’s patron saint. There was no tradition of Lithuanian emigration to Ireland before the 1990s. Now Ireland and Britain are the main destinations of job emigres from Lithuania - a big part of those emigres used the services of Lithuania-based employment agencies to come to ‘the islands.’
VILNIUS - Employment agencies for the majority of Lithuanians now need to associate with an agency which offers jobs abroad. There are 20 employment agencies in Lithuania which, in cooperation with agencies abroad, mostly in the United Kingdom, export the Lithuanian labor force.
