Latvia to take on Gitmo prisoner

RIGA - Latvia has agreed to accept one prisoner from the United States' detention facility at Guantanimo Bay, the foreign Ministry reported.No charges will be brought against the detainee, and he will enjoy his freedom while in Latvia."The person belongs to the category of detainees who are cleared for release and do not constitute a threat to the public. The U.S. and Latvian competent authorities have carefully examined the person's case. This person will not threaten the security of Latvian residents," the press resealse says.
