The drug bust was the largest in Lithuanian history.

KLAIPEDA - Lithuanian police have uncovered a massive cocaine shipment in the port-town of Klaipeda in what has become by far the largest drug bust in the history of the country.

Approximately 500 kilograms of cocaine was found on a cargo shipped docked in the port, reportedly en route to Germany from Ecuador.

Police estimate that the street value of the cocaine could be as high as 30 million euros.

Lithuanian police worked in conjunction with their Ecuadorian, Latvian and American counterparts in an operation that saw the arrest of four crew members of the ship.

Police said the drugs were hidden inside frozen fish.

The previous record for a seizure of cocaine in Lithuania was 40 kilograms.
