Stag partiers to return to court

Nov 13, 2009
TBT Staff

RIGA - Two men who were found innocent last month are going to have to return to court to face an appeal.

In the high-profile case, the two stag partiers were accused of attacking a police officer. They were found innocent of the crime and were allowed to return to their native Britain, but will now have to return to Latvia for the appeals process, thisisderbyshire.co.uk reported.

Latvian officials have been working to clamp down on some of the destruction caused by stag partiers in Riga. There have been a slew of cases in recent years in which men, primarily from the UK, are caught being drunk and disorderly on the streets of Riga.
