VILNIUS - Lithuanian Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius has said that he will resign if the 2010 budget fails to pass in next month's vote.

Kubilius told the radio that failure to adopt the 2010 budget would trigger "a collapse" of public finances, Reuters reported.

The budget will be a difficult bill to push through as it entails painful cuts and Kubilius' government maintains only a slim majority in the country's parliament.
