The facility of Ignalina NPP

The Lithuanian president Dalia Grybauskaite does not regret the fact, that the last power-generating unit of the Ignalina NPP will close in two month. In her opinion, the leap of the prices on electrical energy will not happen. The president is not threatened by the future construction of the Nuclear Power Plant in the Kaliningrad Region.

"The prime cost of the juice on Ignalina is 6-7 Lithuanian cents (2 euro cents), then the sales price of it is 35 cents (9 euro cents). This is what we call a dictate of the monopoly. Our whole economy is paying such a price. And until there is no energy market in the country, were will be no difference in keeping or not keeping Ignalina” - said Grybauskaite.

The president is sure, the the leap of the prices on electrical energy is not going to happen after the closing of the second unit.
