
On the night of the 25. of October [Sunday], at 4 am, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia ends the period of Daylight Saving Time, as informed by the Ministry of Economics.
Therefore, the clock should be set back one hour. The transition is carried out in 110 countries all over the world. For the first time hand of the clock was set back in 1908 in Great Britain.
In Latvia the the transition to Daylight saving time and back was inducted in 1981.
The scientific research shows, that the Daylight Time transition lowers the amount of the consumed energy, decreases road traffic accident rate and crime rate, still it has a negative effect on man's biological rhythm.
