A new United States ambassador in Lithuania

VILNIUS 's On Wednesday [14. Oct] the new ambassador of USA in Lithuania has assumed office. Lithuanian president Dalia GrybauskaitÄ— has accepted the credentials from the new ambassador Anne E. Derse.

The press-service of the president has informed, that Anne E. Derse is working as an diplomatist since 1981. In the year 2006 she was assigned as an ambassador of USA in Azerbaijan. The diplomatist has also worked in USA's mission in EU, in the embassy of USA in Iraq, in Trinidad&Tobago and Singapore.

Anne E. Derse completed her Bachelor of Arts in French and Linguistics from Macalester College in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1976 and her Master of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University's Paul H. Nitze School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) in 1981. She also graduated with distinction from the State Department's Economic and Commercial Studies program in 1989.
