RIGA- During the Oct.3 emergency government meeting, several agreements were made between coalitions parties, which means that technical work on the preparation of next year's budget project will begin, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (New Era Party) told the press.

According to Dombrovkis, next year's budget expenditure will be reduced by LVL 225 million, while another LVL 100 million will be gained in revenue by tax policy changes.

The Finance Ministry will now begin technical work on next year's budget.

Dombrovskis also added that international lenders are understanding of the situation in Latvia, however, the most important discussions with them are still ahead, as another mission will arrive in Latvia in the first part of November.

Next year's budget will be submitted to Saeima on October 23.
