TALLINN - The recently released Estonian anti-corruptionstrategy report has found that the police need more officers investigating corruption in order to help clamp down on the problem.

The report gives an overview of the more important activitiesof anti-corruption strategy and of the aims achieved lastyear.

According to the report, the postponement of ethics measuresshould be seen as a failure, as should the fact that thepolice do not have a sufficient number of investigatorsspecializing on issues of corruption.

Another negative aspect the report underlines is that the financing of non-profit organizations from state orlocal budgets is still non-transparent.

The government endorsed the anti-corruption strategy for2008-2012 on April 3 last year.
