Roof collapses at Tallinn shopping center

TALLINN - A large part of the roof of theMustika (Blackberry) shopping center in southern Tallinn collapsed Thursday morning as firefighters struggled to contain the fire that started hours before the mall was scheduled to open.

No one has been injured, spokespeople for the rescue center for North Estonia told the Baltic News Service.

The Rescue Board received a phone call about the fire at 5:41 a.m., dispatching seven fire trucks, two water tanktrucks and two ladder trucks to the scene, along with the Rescue Board's coordinating duty officer. An ambulance was on standby.

According to an initial estimate from 4,000-5,000 square meters of floor area had been affected. The stores that suffered include the outlets ofthe electronics chains Onoff and Enter, and the furniture seller Masku.
