Georgian officials to be rehabilitated in Latvia

RIGA-  30 military officials from Georgia Latvia will receive 30 military officials from Georgia, who will come to the Baltic state for a medical rehabilitation course costing close to 20,000 lats (28,500 euro).

The Latvian government on Dec. 2 upheld the Health Ministry’s proposal for granting the NATO Civil Emergency Planning Committee request for support to the medical rehabilitation of Georgian militaries, who were injured during the military conflict between Georgia and Russia in August 2008.

The rehabilitation cost per patient is 31.35 lats per day. This amount will be paid from the Latvian Health Ministry’s budget.

The Latvian Defense Ministry will to cover the travel costs and transfer from the Riga airport to the rehabilitation center and back. These costs amount to 9,000 lats which will be paid from the Defense Ministry budget.
