Q and A: Pauls Toutonghi, author of “Red Weather”
What inspired the book “Red Weather”? My Latvian heritage was a significant factor in the writing of Red Weather. I grew up going to Latvian Saturday school, where I had to miss Saturday morning cartoons in order to learn the Latvian language, as well as Latvian history, literature and current events. At the time, I was sad I didn’t get to watch the same television programs as my friends. Now, of course, I treasure my ability to speak Latvian above nearly every other aspect of my personality.
