Lithuanian police make major smuggling bust
VILNIUS - The Lithuanian Customs Criminal Board has arrested a group of smugglers attempting to bring thousands of packs of cigarettes into the country.The three Polish citizens and one Lithuanian man were caught
attempting to smuggle 24,500 packs of Russian-made Jign-Ling cigarettes into
the country through Marijampole.
The men had attempted to conceal the cigarettes under a load of grain.
Over the first half of this year, the Customs Criminal Board has confiscated 16.39 million cigarettes that were illegally brought into the country.
