PARNU - The maritime police of Estonia carried out an inspection on the island of Ruhnu and found a drunken Latvian captain among other law breakers.

Artur Kase, supeintendent of the Parnu police department, said the Latvian captain had an old fishing boat which had been rebuilt for the carriage of passengers and had 25 passengers on board.

The four maritime police officers who came to Ruhnu on a launch checked a total of 17 yachts around the island and established some minor violators but didn't fine anyone.

The Parnu maritime policemen also worked on the island, where they caught a drunk driver.
