MARKETS: Little to show for Kalvarijai renovations

FIGHT BACK: Kalvarijai is struggling to win back customers from supermarkets.
VILNIUS - Despite Kalvarijai Market’s massive renovation, sales are slipping and vendors say it still cannot compete with Lithuanian supermarkets for a multitude of reasons. During May and June Kalvarijai Market underwent extensive reconstruction that provided it with 120 shelters for vendors’ stalls and a renovated fish-market pavilion.
