In cooperation with BNS

PARNU- A small single engine plane crashed in the city of Parnu on July 9, killing one.

Local media reported that the plane, a Piper 28, registered in Sweden, was approaching the airport in Parnu to land, when it crashed and went up in flames.

Viktor Saaremets, a spokesman for the West-Estonian rescue center, told the Baltic News Service the aircraft crashed into a small forest about 500 meters from the Parnu airport building.

As of yet no explanation has been given as to the fault of the crash. The Swedish plane crashed around 15:00 Estonian time, killing the pilot. No word on any other survivors.
