MOSCOW- A fruitful meeting of governmentofficials took place in Moscow today, regarding the marking of the border point at Vistytis.  The point borders Russia, Poland and Lithuania and agreements needed to made regarding theproper way to mark this border point.

Participating were, the Lithuanian delegation, led by Head of theGovernmental Commission for Delimitation and Demarcation of the StateBorder and Determination of the Economic Zone in the Baltic Sea of the Republic of Lithuania Zenonas Kumetaitis, as well as border officialsin Russia andfrom Poland.

According to a pressrelease by the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, anagreement was reached regarding the principal provisions of demarcation of theintersection point Vištytis: the parties agreed on the type and the size of thesign. Moreover, during the negotiations, the instructions of marking theintersection point of the state borders were essentially agreed upon.

Completion of the signis expected to be in the beginning of 2009

While this may seem like a trivial matter, discussions have been going onfor years, since the three governments signed the border agreement in 2005. Theonly problem is agreeing on the demarcation of the point in Vistytis.
